Ten Dead, Fifteen Injured in Toronto Van Attack
A van driver, suspected to be Alek Minassian, is in custody after a van plowed into pedestrians on a sidewalk at a busy intersection in Toronto on Monday afternoon, killing 10 people and injuring 15 others, according to NBC News.
There so far is no evidence of terrorism, and according to police officials, they believe this is a mental health motivated attack.
After speaking with top security officials – based on information to date – there appears to be NO National Security connection to the horrible event in Toronto today.

Prime Minister, Justin Truedeau also released a statement today, stating, “It was with great sadness that I heard about the tragic and senseless attack that took place in Toronto this afternoon. On behalf of all Canadians, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of those who were killed, and my thoughts for a fast and full recovery to those injured. I thank the first responders at the scene who managed this extremely difficult situation with courage and professionalism. They faced danger without hesitation, and their efforts no doubt saved lives and prevented further injuries.”
According to ABC News, witnesses describe a bloodbath of horrors:
“I saw police running around everywhere and as I kept going along Yonge Street I saw some downed trees, and posts, and people strewn all over the road.
“He just started hitting everybody, man. He hit every single person on the sidewalk. Anybody in his way he would hit,” another witness said.
“It was awful … brutal. There’s just shoes and shirts and ball caps on the floor. Some of the bodies were completely covered by blankets, which obviously means they didn’t make it.”
