Tomorrowland Winter Announces 10 Headliners
Afrojack and Steve Aoki are among the first acts announced for the first ever Tomorrowland Winter, an immersive and frosty EDM festival set to take place at The Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine Ski in the French Alps, March 9-16. The resort will be redecorated into a Winter wonderland for an expected gathering of up to 30,000. The winter fest is an offshoot of the hugely popular Tomorrowland festival, which began in 2004.
The other eight announced acts are Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Joris Voorn, Kölsch, Lost Frequencies, Martin Garrix, Nervo, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano.
All of the acts have performed at the main Tomorrowland festival previously, and the latest lineup is shaping up to have a diverse variety of styles and sounds. The festival was established in 2005 by brothers, Manu and Michiel Beers, and held in Belgium. They selected the title ‘Tomorrowland’ to reflect values of responsibility, nature, innovation, health and respect.
These five virtues are represented in the Festival’s logo, constructed with five circles, the innermost of which forms a heart to symbolize love for the people and earth of tomorrow. Tomorrowland gained more popularity each year, it incorporated more elaborate sets, gained larger crowds, and now sells out within minutes. Each year the festival publishes an enticing after-movie featuring festival highlights.
Aoki fans are anticipating the release of “Neon Future III,” which will feature Nicki Minaj and Blink 182. Aoki is known for his outlandish collaboration choices, and in 2012 was deemed the highest-earning dance musician in North America. Joris Voorn, Dutch DJ and co-owner of Rejected and Green records, however, has not released an album in four years.
Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies has been busy launching his new record label, Found Frequencies. Aussie sister duo is a delight for female fans seeking representation in EDM.
Attendees may purchase tickets in four or seven-day packages in advance, all of which include lodging. Seven day packages went went on sale over the weekend, and four day packages as of Saturday September 15. Ticket information can be found at https://www.tomorrowland.com/global/
