The Night Aerosmith met Joan Jett

On September 12, 2007 there was a meeting of legends at the Jones Beach Amphitheater in Wantagh, NY.

Legendary rockers Aerosmith were joined by Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, two bands with an extensive resume ranging from an array of top hits, hall of fame appearances, and styles that truly separate them from the rest.

Aerosmith played some of their legendary hits such as “Sweet Emotion” and “Walk This Way.”

Joan Jett & The Blackhearts played their top hits like “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll” and “I Hate Myself for Loving You”. Joan Jett is a true pioneer in her own right in the rock genre.

Two bands of this magnitude on the same stage was an experience that’s special. It’s not often that legends work together live. Music fans definitely got a treat this night.

There’s something that these two bands certainly have in common and that’s longevity in a business that’s constantly changing and evolving with new artists, new songs, new tastes, and an ever-changing fan base. Being able to maintain a career over 20-plus years is a milestone in itself, then add in the Grammy awards, and you have a legacy cemented in history.

One can only imagine if they did a major album together…
