Let’s ‘Go’ to the Store! Amazon Go Opens its Doors

Step right up, grab what you need, and go.

That is the future of shopping, and Amazon opened its doors to it’s cashier-less, previously exclusive Amazon Go mini-mart located in Seattle.

So, you may be wondering how it exactly works, so what you do is download the Amazon Go app, verify your Amazon account details, and the app generates a barcode that gets scanned as you walk into the Amazon Go store.  This store is filled with special cameras, shelf sensors, and the company’s computer vision system that together monitor your actions in the store as well as the movement of items on shelves.

The technology isn’t fool-proof, though, and it can get confused when the store is crowded or when items get misplaced in the store, so you need to be careful with overcharges in your Amazon Cart.

This technology is the very first of its kind, open to the public eye.

This concepts opens up multiple scenarios, and some may wonder what’s next?

Some reports suggest that Whole Foods — now owned by Amazon — may start implementing this software at some of their grocery stores in the near future.
