Looking Ahead: Music in 2019

A new year brings change and excitement, especially in the music industry. Here are three things coming your way this year.  

Recently, I published a piece highlighting new albums hitting stores in 2019. To make a long article short, there’s so much new stuff coming in the next year.

For me, it’s a medley of music from an array of alternative categories, but obviously this optimism isn’t confined to any one genre. No matter what your taste is, thousands of people are gonna be putting forth material made seemingly just for you. 

Live 

Check your local listings, because in 2019 thousands of bands and artists will be heading to a venue near you. The new year provides the opportunity to spend nights listening to your favorite songs performed in front of your eyes.

For me, it’s the chance to check out a number of bands I’ve never seen live. Panic at the Disco will travel the world promoting their latest record, and Fever 333 on the First Love tour. North Carolina is also getting the mammoth Epicenter Festival, which is pretty basically a who’s who of dream bands.

The next big thing

Joyner Lucas, Milestones, Lil Baby, Knocked Loose, Jay Rock, BTS, the list of artists and bands with a 2018 logo’d launch pad is seemingly endless. Which brings up the question, who’s next?

Millions of aspiring artists will be working tirelessly in 2019. No matter what background, mindset, or genre these creators represent, they all share a similar dream: to set the world on fire in 2019.

Not only does this year promise new music from all of your favorite established musicians, it  will bring a new crop of talent through the forefront of the music scene and right out your speakers while we wade through another 365 days.
