America’s Best Selling Bunny Teaches A Lesson in Love
John Oliver is well known for his series Last Week Tonight where he delivers news in a humorous but honest manner. Oliver covers world news like Brexit and the French election as well as United States news like the Trump Presidency and vaccines. His most recent episode focused on Mike Pence.
While a majority of the clip focuses on Pence’s LGBT discrimination laws, Oliver brings humor to the episode when he talks about Pence’s pet rabbit: Marlon Bundo. Pence had a children’s book published “Marlon Bundo’s A Day In the Life of the Vice President” and because of Pence’s strong homophobic views, Oliver created his own parody of the book with a major twist. In Oliver’s version “A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo,” Marlon Bundo is gay and falls in love with another boy rabbit.

In addition to this, proceeds from Oliver’s book go towards the Trevor Project which supports LGBT youth and AIDS United Charity. Currently Oliver’s version is rapidly outselling Pence’s original version.
