Ariana Grande Performs in U.K. for First Time Since Manchester Benefit

Ariana Grande performed for the first time in the U.K. since the One Love Manchester concert last June, which benefitted the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing in May 2017, in which 23 people were killed and 139 were injured.

Grande appeared at an intimate London venue, KOKO, in connection with Capital FM’s Close Up series. The pop singer performed songs from her newly released album, “Sweetener, My Everything” and her debut album “Yours Truly,” which celebrated its fifth anniversary on Sept. 3.

The show began with Grande performing a series of songs from “Sweetener.” She closed the show by performing an a cappella version of her hit “One Last Time,” as adoring fans sang along.

In addition to the fifth-anniversary celebration of “Yours Truly,” Grande notched her third number one album, as “Sweetener” hit number one on the Billboard 200 charts this past week. According to Billboard.com, “The set’s arrival helps her return to No. 1 on the Billboard Artist 100 for a third total week.”

Grande also made an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge where she performed a cover of Thundercat’s “Them Changes,” in addition to songs from Sweetener. She is scheduled to appear in a one-hour special for the BBC television network which is set to be recorded on Sep 7.
