Marvel Studios’ blockbuster hit Avengers: Infinity War rejuvenated this weekend’s domestic box office with its estimated $250 million opening weekend, surpassing its predecessor Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ prior record of $248 million.
Avengers: Infinity War is the 19th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and features an ensemble team of over 20 all-star actors, all who have starred in prior films in the franchise over the past decade, including Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Norse god Thor as well as Oscar nominees Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr. and Josh Brolin as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tony Stark/Iron Man and Thanos respectively.
