Avengers: Infinity War Receives New Release Date
Superhero fans get ready as Avengers: Infinity War has been moved up from it’s original May 4th release date to an April 27th release date. The new release date was announced via an entertaining Twitter thread between Marvel Studios and Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr, that can be viewed at the bottom of this article.
The changed release date isn’t completely unprecedented, but it’s more common for studios to push release dates back as opposed to forward. Also, CNET reports that Marvel Studios has been locked into the May 4th release date for Infinity War since 2014.
There are a lot of other blockbusters coming out in May, including the Deadpool sequel and Solo: A Star Wars Story so it can be speculated that Marvel Studios is trying to limit the competition.
It’s being reported however that this change in release date was probably done so as to match it with the international release of the movie. Movies tend to be released a week earlier internationally, so now the whole world will be able to watch Infinity War on the same date, limiting the chances for spoilers. Whatever the reason for the change of date may be, it’s exciting news for Marvel fans for sure.
