Bebe Rexha Encourages Women To ‘Love Your Body’

Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Bebe Rexha recently took to Instagram to express her disappointment over fashion designers who are refusing to dress her for the upcoming Grammy Awards. According to Buzzfeed, Rexha said, “I had my team hit [up] a lot of designers and a lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big.”

Rexha expressed in her Instagram caption how important it is for women to feel comfortable in their body and love the skin they’re in. She wrote, “Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less [than] [because of] their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large! Andddd my size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys #LOVEYOURBODY.”

The 29-year old songstress, who is known for hits like “Meant to Be”and “I’m A Mess,” is nominated for “Best New Artist” at this year’s Grammys and wants her 7.3 million followers to know that she is not ashamed being a size 8.

Rexha told NBCNews, “If a size 6/8 is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you,” she said. “Then I don’t want to wear your f——dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying all the women in the world that area size 8 and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.”

The post has accumulated tens of thousands of comments and over 1.4 millions views. Many are praising her for speaking out about the importance of body image.

All eyes will certainly be on Rexha at the Grammy ceremony on February 10.
