Details Emerging About What Happened Before and After Demi Lovato’s Overdose Scare

Details towards Demi Lovato’s apparent overdose on Tuesday have been released today. Lovato is awake and with her family after being hospitalized earlier Tuesday, according to a statement from the singer’s representative.

“Demi is awake and with her family, who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” said the statement from Lovato’s representative. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”

Sources have stated that Demi Lovato was not alone at the time of overdose, but was partying the night prior with celebrities such as Bella Thorne. Reportedly, family and friends had recently feared she was hanging out with people who were encouraging her drug habit. Lovato’s friends reportedly used the medication Narcan, which can reverse the effects of opioid overdoses to treat her.

Lovato is known to be an advocate of addiction and mental health previously stating,

“You just have to take it one day at a time; some days are easier than others and some days you forget about drinking and using, but for me, I work on my physical health, which is important, but my mental health as well,” Lovato said, adding that she was seeing her therapist twice a week. “I make sure I stay on my medications. I go to AA meetings. I do what I can physically in the gym. I make it a priority.”

In June, Lovato released a single named Sober, admitting to her recent struggles with addiction. She is planning to go to rehab after her stay in the hospital.
