Disney California Adventure Reveals Incredicoaster at Pixar Pier
The Incredibles 2 continues to unsurprisingly smash the summer box office, setting the record for the biggest opening of an animated film at $180 million and surpassing a quarter of a billion dollars in gross revenue. Now, fans can follow the fun and mischief of the quirky super-family to Disneyland California Adventure, and partake in another action-packed adventure aboard the Incredicoaster, which opened to the public yesterday, Saturday, June 23.
As part of the park’s brand-new Pixar Pier, the late California Screamin’ thrill coaster got a quick face-lift to accommodate the release of the highly-anticipated superhero sequel. DisneyGo writes “This newly re-imagined attraction boasts enclosed Incredibles-red tubes that tower over Pixar Pier and a mid-century-modern-inspired loading area where vehicles wait to whisk Guests off on the Incredicoaster! Plus, all-new special effects, character moments, scenes and a musical score by Incredibles 2 composer Michael Giacchino adds to the super-fied fun!”
Disney Park Blog discloses the storyline of the reborn attraction: the people of Metroville decide to dedicate their rollercoaster to the Incredibles, inviting them to an inaugural launch. Superhero costume-designer Edna Mode agrees to watch baby Jack-Jack while the family rides the coaster, but chaos soon ensues as Jack-Jack disappears, and the family must spring into action to find him.
6,000 feet of drops, helixes, and humps await riders, including flame and laser special effects, according to Comicbook.com.
