Drake Announces ‘Assassination Vacation’ European Tour
Drake took to Twitter and Instagram last week to announce his 2019 Assassination Vacation European Tour. The anticipation has been high for an announcement since Drake’s busy 2018, in which he dropped Scorpion and toured across the U.S. and Canada with Migos.
The tour kicks off March 10, with back to back nights in Manchester, followed by three nights in Paris (March 13, 15, 16), three nights in Dublin (March 19, 21, 22), three shows in Birmingham (March 26, 27, 28), followed by a six show stint in London (April 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 9). Next up are two shows in Antwerp (Apr. 19, 20), and then finally three last shows in Amsterdam (April 23, 25, 26).
Tickets for the tour went on sale Friday, January 25.
Joining Drake on the tour will be another familiar rap and R&B star from Canada, Tory Lanez.
Lanez, known for his high energy concert style and putting out great deals of music in recent years, has had a hot 2018. He dropped LoVE me NOw, and was in the news for his dispute with fellow rapper Joyner Lucas.
Lanez and Drake recently squashed their beef when Drake brought Tory on stage during his New York City Madison Square Garden show last year, to perform Lanez song “Shooters” and informed the audience that Lanez was his “brother” from Toronto.
Drake will be returning to Europe for the first time since the Would You Like a Tour? shows in 2015.
Also along for the ride will be hip hop DJ Tiffany Calver, who recently took over as the host for BBC Radio 1Xtra’s rap show, and was the first female to create a mix for Drake’s OVO Sound radio show. She also opened for Beyonce and Jay-Z’s On the Run tour in early 2018.
