Eight Members of Same Family Graduate from Idaho State University College of Pharmacy

Idaho State University will have eight family members on their College of Pharmacy alumni roster after their commencement this Saturday. Siblings Nickolas Wynn and Kaitlin Wynn Nakken are both graduating this year from the College of Pharmacy at the university in Pocatello, ID.

Kim Wynn, their mother, graduated from the same program at ISU in 1991. She is now a pharmacist at Bengal Pharmacy, which is owned by ISU. The two siblings about to graduate will continue on the family legacy.

But Nickolas and Kaitlin aren’t the only children of Kim and David Wynn. Cassidy, Nicholas’s twin sister, Cassidy, is an alumna who works full-time as an elementary school teacher and also often works as a pharmacy technician in Aberdeen, ID. Kaitlyn’s twin brother, Michael, graduated from Brigham Young University, Idaho in March and works as a mechanical engineer. The fifth member to complete the Wynn siblings is Carson, 16, who hasn’t gone to college yet.

The family’s pharmaceutical roots started when Kim’s father, William C. Johns, graduated from ISU in 1957 and worked as a hospital pharmacist in the United States Army. Growing up, Kim would sometimes go to work with her father and help him pre-fill prescriptions.

Along with her father, three of her children and herself, there are three other members of Kim’s family who graduated from ISU’s College of Pharmacy and work in the same profession. Her brother, Richard Johns, works at Alberton’s SavOn Pharmacy in Caldwell, ID. Her brother-in-law, Grant Briggs, works for McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, UT. Finally, her niece, Talise Chapman, works at Shaver’s Pharmacy in Pocatello, ID. This makes long list of the family tree following in the footsteps of this lineage of pharmacy work.
