Fans Celebrate Maya Angelou on her 90th Birthday
Fans across the country remembered civil rights activist Maya Angelou on what would have been her 90th birthday. Maya Angelou was born on April 4th, 1929 in Winston-Salem, NC. Over the span of 50 years, Angelou published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, and several books of poetry. Angelou is best known for her first autobiography I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings which tells the story of her life up until age 17.
