Fire at Kansas State University Library

Kansas State University officials reported that smoke was first noticed around 4 p.m. Tuesday in Hale Library on the campus, which had been undergoing repairs.

The building was evacuated and no injuries were reported, while crews fought to keep the fire contained to one area.

“The library was built in the 1920s and underwent a massive remodel and addition in the 1990s. The university did not say when it will reopen after Tuesday’s fire,” KWCH12 reported.

Additionally, the university tweeted that due to the fire, online systems will be down until further notice.
