Former Disney Channel Starlet Joins the White House as Press Assistant

22-year-old former Disney Channel sitcom starlet, Caroline Sunshine, is the latest television personality to join President Trump’s administration as the White House’s newest press assistant.

Sunshine is best known for her role as European exchange student Tinka Hessenheffer in Disney’s hit tween series ‘Shake It Up’, alongside fellow co-stars Bella Thorne and Zendaya, as well as Barbara Winslow in 2010 film ‘Marmaduke’.

As ‘Shake It Up’ came to an end in 2013, Sunshine veered her attention toward education and politics in lieu of pursuing her career as an actress. An International Relations and Economics double-major at Claremont McKenna College, Sunshine had actively participated in student organizations such as Model United Nations and the American Enterprise Institute.

Additionally, Sunshine built an impressive resume as an intern for both the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and the California Republican Party, which eventually led to her attaining an internship at the White House.

Although Sunshine has kept a relatively low profile presence on her verified social media platforms, she has accumulated over 500,000 and 200,000 followers on her Twitter and Instagram accounts respectively.
