Former Georgia Tech Fraternity President Pleads Guilty to Rape

A former Georgia Tech fraternity president pleaded guilty to rape. Christian Kahf, 23, entered the plea in Fulton County Superior Court Friday morning in the middle of his trial.

Judge Craig Schwall sentenced Kahf to 20 years in prison with 7 to serve and the balance on probation after Kahf entered the plea. Kahf is also restricted from having contact from the victim, his ex-girlfriend, and the victim’s family.

During the sentencing, Judge Schwall told Kahf, “I think you’ve made a wise decision. A lot of hard work went into this plea and I applaud you for taking responsibility for your actions. You made some bad choices. but I also believe you can be rehabilitated and become a positive member of society.”

According to a release by the Office of the Fulton County District Attorney, Kahf and his ex-girlfriend met on the Georgia Tech campus. Kahf’s ex-girlfriend wore a digital voice recorder while undercover officers stood by and confronted Kahf about having sex with her on the night of her 21st birthday.

“What happened was not consensual that night. I raped you more than once, and I wish I never had,” Kahf said. Five days later, Kahf was arrested and held in jail until trial.
