Harry Styles wins LGBTQ Advocate Award at Gay Times Honours

On Friday, the second annual Gay Times Honours awarded British superstar Harry Styles their LGBTQ Advocate award at a ceremony in Liverpool. According to the Gay Times websiteThe Gay Times Honours is “an evening that will recognize organisations and individuals who have had a tremendous impact…on what it means to live open and freely as LGBT+ people in Britain today.”

This award comes after Styles completed a world tour to support his debut solo album. Styles is an open and inspiring advocate for the LGBTQ community. He shared his support throughout his recent tour with fans from around the world. Nearly every night he performed, there were dozens of videos of Styles waving the pride flag circulating social media.

There were moments during each concert where Styles would speak to the crowd, letting everyone know that they were in a safe space, and that they could truly be themselves at his show.

According to the Gay Times, “Styles uses his platform to make sure his LGBTQ fans feel accepted and noticed, which was most superbly displayed earlier this year with The Rainbow Project.”

The Rainbow Project was a fan-based project that got the entire audience to light up the arena with multiple colors, ultimately creating a beautiful rainbow.

Styles’s motto, “Treat People With Kindness,” inspires him to show support for people of all backgrounds and sexual orientations, and encourages him to participate in movements surrounding many different social issues.
