If you only go to one festival in 2019, it should be…Jazz Fest
If you are looking for a music festival filled with vivacious, live performances along with a colorful historic culture, then The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival would be the perfect gig to attend this spring, from Thursday, April 25th– Sunday, May 5th,2019.
Being a big fan of jazz music and hoping visiting New Orleans one day, I say that going to a festival in one of the most high-spirited,celebratory cities in America with live performances of equally high-spirited and celebratory music would make this event worth the wait. Especially as this festival introduced so many famous and beloved jazz musicians in history, such as Duke Ellington and Mahalia Jackson, it still continues to attract more arising jazz stars to come.
Held in the birthplace of Jazz, this upbeat celebration hosts a large variety of musical styles and is set up with twelve stages of soul-stirring music worth dancing and singing along to.
The music includes jazz, funk, folk, gospel, blues, R&B,Cajun, rock, and much more. This year’s lineup includes a fantastic blend of different music groups and performers. Ones such as The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Gregory Porter, and the Hardhead Hunters Mardi Gras Indians will keep the authentic jazz performances alive. Other live performances will feature non-jazz musicians as well, these include some of my favorites like The Rolling Stones, Earth, Wind, & Fire, and Indigo Girls, which are all guaranteed to give this festival a great amount of variety for everyone to enjoy together.
As it the 50th anniversary of Jazz Fest this year, this festival is to last for another extra day, thus giving all attendees to more time to enjoy the fun, along with live video footage from the Jazz Fest and images of the best moments throughout the years.
In addition, anyone who comes can also enjoy and experience both the current and historical New Orleans culture with booths of Louisianan cuisine and crafts. They can enjoy authentic Cajun food and crafts being made in front of them and embrace it all with music playing all day long while getting their own vibe of the New Orleans lifestyle.
With this great mix of live music and authentic experience, this event will guarantee great cultural significance and popular appeal.
