Jemele Hill Joins ‘The Atlantic’
After almost 12 years with ESPN, former host and columnist, Jemele Hill, has found a new home.
The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief announced on Monday that the sports journalist is joining the magazine as a staff writer.

Hill recently parted ways with ESPN after being suspended last year for violating the company’s social media policy by posting a series of tweets involving President Trump. She has become one of the most well-known journalists in sports media because of her willingness to tackle the intersection of sports and politics.
In her first interview since the departure, Hill said that her relationship with ESPN had run its course and she was ready to spread her wings in different ways.
Now almost a year after the suspension she is beginning a new chapter with The Atlantic.
Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief at The Atlantic, shared his excitement about Hill joining the staff, calling her a roman candle. “She is fearless, energetic,” Goldberg explained. “I like having journalists on our staff who make all sorts of useful trouble, and Jemele, I believe, will make all sorts of useful trouble.”
The Atlantic is yet another addition to Hill’s growing list of projects. She is currently a columnist with The Undefeated, working on a sports and politics show with Lebron James, developing a production company, and collaborating with actress Gabrielle Union on a scripted series.
