Member of Pussy Riot may Have Been Poisoned
The highly controversial band Pussy Riot, whose songs often tackle heated issues like feminism, LGBT rights, and even Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin, are back in the headlines.
Pyotr Verzilov, a member of the group who fell ill earlier this week and treated in Moscow, was flown to Germany to be treated by doctors in Berlin. The cause of illness was unclear but Verzilov was experiencing loss of memory, and wasn’t able to walk or respond to doctors attending him. Reports linked the illness to poisoning.
Verzilov was one of the band members who ran across the field during the World Cup final, making headlines all over the world.
The band wrote on Twitter that they still haven’t heard the full story from Verzilov himself, as he is still unable to speak.
We wish we could get a comment from Peter about his poisoning, but we cannot since he’s still disoriented and not fully with us. pic.twitter.com/o04n3V1YLn
