Multiple Students Drugged at Stanford University Fraternity Party
At least 7 people came forward with symptoms related to being drugged at a Stanford University fraternity party in Palo Alto, California.
The drugging took place Friday night at the Sigma Chi fraternity house. According to the Stanford Daily, 5 of the people reporting symptoms are members of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and 2 members of the men’s rowing team.
Members of Pi Beta Phi received an email memo from Pi Phi staff regarding the sorority members symptoms, said the Stanford Daily. The memo highlights the symptoms of the people as similar to that of someone taking a Benzo-Diazaepine, a drug able to work as a tranquilizer.
At least seven suspect a non-Stanford student drugged them at a Sig Chi event. Stanford Police were notified earlier today and the Title IX office is investigating. https://t.co/aNtJ026bGn

A form of Benzo is more commonly known as “roofies,” and are typically seen as a date-rape drug. The memo states that not all Pi Phi members took a drug test, and there is no official evidence but one of the members of the rowing team tested positive for the drug after going to the hospital.
Officials believe the person responsibility is not a student of Stanford, but is associated with the men’s rowing team. Multiple news organizations are reporting the suspect is a member of Dartmouth College’s men’s rowing team.
This incident is currently being investigated by Stanford University.
