‘Ocean’s 8’ is the #girlgang Movie With a Light, Fun Flair

My next film in my crazy summer movie quest is the crime and mystery film “Oceans 8.”

This film follows the life of Debbie Ocean (The wonderful and talented, Sandra Bullock), as she devises one of the biggest thefts of her life. In fact, she planned the heist top to bottom for five years, eight months, 12 days and counting.

Starring in the film are some of the most amazing actresses that I know we all love and adore: (in no specific order) Rihanna, Sandra Bullock, and Anne Hathaway. The team works together to steal a necklace that is worth more than $150 million.

My thoughts: Before seeing this movie, I will admit that many people told me it was pointless and a waste of money. But it is my job to tell you, the reader, my opinion so I thought it was only fair to go see the movie to make my own judgement AND because I saw that the cast included almost all my favorite actresses #ANNEHATHAWAYSLAYS.

I think the fashion and the humor aspects were great.  I enjoy that it is an all-girl gang running a multi-million-dollar con #girlpower.

Julie’s Advice:

Like I mentioned, the cast was amazing, but I was discouraged by the film. These powerful ladies are better than this film. They have so much more potential. I feel like this movie did not fully show what they are fully capable of, which we all already know that these women all slay the game.
