Patriots Headed to Super Bowl LII After Comeback Victory Against Jaguars
After trailing behind the Jacksonville Jaguars for most of the game, the New England Patriots were down 20-10 at the start of the fourth quarter of Sunday’s AFC Championship game.
Patriots fans were on the edge of their seats with the fact that New England’s quarterback Tom Brady had been playing with an injury on his passing hand and tight end Rob Gronkowski was out of the game with a concussion. With the fourth-quarter deficit as the cherry on top, things weren’t looking good.
Gillette Stadium roared with cheers when Brady found wide receiver Danny Amendola for a touchdown about seven minutes into the final quarter. With Stephen Gostkowski’s kick good for the extra point, the 10 point deficit became a three-point game. The game took a turn when the Patriots took the lead after Brady finds Amendola yet again with 2:50 left on the clock. The extra point was good.

New England’s defense managed to keep the Jaguars offense at bay for the remainder of the game, resulting in a win for the Patriots with a final score of 20-24.
With the win, Brady will lead the Patriots to the title game in Minneapolis on February 4th, the team’s 10th appearance overall, which is an extension of the record they already held. This will be the eighth time in Brady’s 18-year career he has appeared in the Super Bowl and he is in search of his sixth championship.
Speaking of Minneapolis, the Minnesota Vikings missed out on a chance to become the first team to ever play the Super Bowl in their home stadium, getting hammered 38-7 by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game.
The Eagles have opened as five point underdogs.
