Rhianna Slams Snapchat for Game Making Fun of Domestic Violence

Rhianna laid into Snapchat with an Instagram post that condemned a Snapchat game called “Would You Rather” that posed the question: would you rather slap Rhianna or punch Chris Brown?

Snapchat took the game down and issued an apology earlier this week, releasing a statement that read, in part, “The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines.”

Rhi was having none of it.

After opening by saying Snapchat “ain’t my fav app out there,” the singer went on to get to the point: “You spent money to animate something that would intentionally bring shame to DV victims and made a joke of it!!!”

Of course, the reference to a domestic violence incident between Brown and Rhianna — he choked, punched and bit her so violently she ended up in a hospital in 2009 — was not lost on anyone and social media users flamed the company as well.

Snapchat said in a statement to The Verge: “This advertisement is disgusting and never should have appeared on our service. We are so sorry we made the terrible mistake of allowing it through our review process. We are investigating how that happened so that we can make sure it never happens again.”

Between this and Kylie Jenner’s recent Snapchat slam, this aren’t looking so great for the company. Rhi’s statement is thought to have wiped about a billion dollars off Snap, Inc’s stock value.

We dropped two mixtapes in six months. And we take the news very seriously.
