Salmonella is Back Again

There are now 35 reported cases of Salmonella, across nine states. These numbers come after 200 million eggs that were farmed in North Carolina were recalled. All of the cases have been along the eastern seaboard except for a lone case in Colorado.

While the eggs were recalled in April it is being reported that people began falling ill as early as November 2017 and are still getting ill as recently as last month. Thankfully, none of the cases have ended in fatalities. Due to the fact that reporting on this topic has been lax, there may be cases still unaccounted for or properly documented.

The eggs, while produced in North Carolina, are owned by Rose Farms, an Indiana based company. The eggs were delivered to multiple supermarket chains and even directly to some restaurants.

The symptoms, which include diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps, take about 12-72 hours after exposure to take effect. It is being urged that if you or anyone you know present these symptoms after ingested recalled eggs to contact your doctor and get treatment immediately.
