These Classes for Confidence — which began in 2016 as part of the Sephora Stands campaign — are offered in ninety minute sessions, free of charge, at a variety of Sephora locations. In the past, new classes have been targeted toward cancer survivors. Though classes differ in specifics, each is intended to “help inspire fearlessness in those facing major life transitions” according to the brand’s official website. Since the launch of these confidence classes, over 8500 people have attended, with 83% reporting improved confidence according to Sephora.
Created by LGBTQ+ Sephora employees, the class targets specific issues faced by the trans community, such as general insecurity as a result of body dysmorphia. Through a hands-on teaching experience, Sephora employees will help give trans people — as well as family and friends — a better understanding of the skincare and makeup best suited to their complexion and skin type.
For those unable to access in-person classes, Sephora will also upload related tutorials to its Sephora Stands YouTube Channel.
Classes will be available in participating Sephora stores nationwide in June. For further information or to register for classes, visit https://www.sephorastands.com/classes_for_confidence/
