Smoothie King Moves Headquarters to Texas
Look out Smoothie Factory and Jamba Juice, Louisiana-based Smoothie King will move its headquarters to North Texas this summer.
The smoothie and juice company has more than 900 locations nationwide. Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim released a statement describing Dallas as a “major food and beverage hub with a more centralized location, a larger talent pool to further enhance our growing team, and access to a greater number of quality vendors and suppliers.” according to The Dallas Morning News.
Smoothie King made a $2.4 million deal with the state that required the company to stay in the New Orleans area for at least five years. This Cooperative Endeavor Agreement ended in December of 2017.
However, the company is dedicated to its hometown. Smoothie King intends on having a smaller, local office in Metairie located in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana which will house nearly 20 percent of their current home office team. They also plan on keeping their naming rights at The Smoothie King Center, home to the New Orleans Pelicans basketball team.
Smoothie King’s new office will be located at Cypress Waters development in Irving, about 20 minutes outside of Dallas.
