South Korea Has the Most Educated Young People in the Entire World
South Korea has recently been ranked first in having the most educated young people in the world according to a recent September 2018 Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in having the most educated young people. 70% of young people between the ages of 25 and 34 in the Republic of Korea have completed tertiary education or higher education such as a university. Other countries such as Canada, Japan, Lithuania, and the United Kingdom are also in the top five of having the world’s most educated youth population with percentages between more than 50-60%. The United States, however, only has about 47% of young people between the ages of 25 and 34 years-old with a tertiary education. The OECD average is considered 43.1%.
As the country’s current youth population becomes more educated, the more economically prosperous it will further become in the near future. Due to a national, social, and cultural emphasis on business, science, and technology, South Korea along with Sweden, Singapore, Germany, Japan, Finland, Switzerland, Denmark, France, and Israel have been recently ranked as the top ten most innovative countries in the developed world according to a recent 2017 Bloomberg report.
