Movies With Julie: TAG, You’re It!
TAG, YOU’RE IT!
The first film that I will be reviewing in my crazy summer movie quest is the new true-story comedy, “TAG.”
This movie follows five childhood friends in their forties who are still playing a game of tag that has been ongoing for the last thirty years. This comedy is full of bonding, action, and revenge.
Each May, the men partake in a free-for-all tag game. They have all been tagged, besides Jerry. The movie follows the four tagged men as they join together to tag Jerry at some point during his wedding weekend. A reporter named Rebecca accompanies them to write a story about the game, which is to be published in the Wall Street Journal.
My thoughts: I think “TAG” provided some laughs and enjoyment. I really enjoyed the talented cast and the bonding seen all throughout the movie. It was very entertaining, and I found myself giggling constantly.
But– and here comes my “negative” movie reviewer thoughts, “dun dun dun”–I do not believe just anyone would enjoy seeing “TAG”. If you have dry humor like me and enjoy knee slapper jokes, go buy a ticket and see the movie. Keep in mind, that the movie is long and tends to feel as though it is stretched out and could end a lot sooner.
Julie’s Advice:
If you decide to see the movie, I would recommend sticking around for the credits. You may see real footage of the childhood friends playing the game.
If you are looking for a funny and satisfying comedy, “TAG” comes pretty close.
Julie’s Rating: 3 out of 5
