The ‘Breaking Bad’ Cast Reunites for Tenth Anniversary EW Cover

It’s been ten years since the Emmy award-winning show “Breaking Bad” made its debut on AMC, and now the cast reunites for a ten year anniversary. The Entertainment Weekly cover features Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Bob Odenkirk, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, Giancarlo Esposito, Johnathan Banks, and RJ Mitte.

“Breaking Bad” premiered on January 2008 and focused on chemistry teacher Walter White (Bryan Cranston) who decided to live a life of crime with his former student Jesse Pickman (Aaron Paul) by manufacturing meth after he was diagnosed with lung cancer. The show would collect over 146 award wins and defined the Golden Age of Television.

Since the show ended back in 2013, it has been years since the cast members seen each other and they were all very happy and emotional to finally be reunited again. “There’s a suggestion in the question that it’s emotional and you’re right,” Cranston told EW. “You can’t just move on. Something that was so indelible and meaningful in your life and you can’t, and I don’t do that.”

Cranston won many awards for his role as Walter White, including Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2009, 2010 and 2013.

Cranston on-screen partner in crime, Paul told EW, “I love these people. I feel blessed to have shared this incredible experience that is “Breaking Bad with each and every one of these people.” Paul continued by saying, ” I remember when we were shooting the first season, Dean and I were talking, he goes ‘You know, in ten years, we’re going to look back and say, Goddammit! I used to be apart of Breaking Bad!’ And now it’s crazy that ten years has passed and I am still constantly thinking that. It’s like, wow, how lucky we all are.”

After the show ended, it spun a spin-off show called “Better Called Saul,” which is largely successful and has been nominated for Emmys. Odenkirk, who plays Saul Goodman said to EW, “The story is still going for me. But there’s a huge a pretty big leap there, between the Saul in ‘Breaking Bad’ and Jimmy McGill-Saul of ‘Better Call Saul.’ It was a blast and a challenge to play Saul in Breaking Bad.”

The cast has also announced that they will have a ten-year anniversary panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday, July 19.
