Trump Claims There Will be a Stock Market Crash if he’s Impeached

On Thursday, during an extensive interview with Fox News, President Trump warned “I don’t know how you can impeach somebody who’s done a great job…If I ever got impeached, I think the market would crash. I think everybody would be very poor.”

This remark came after a tremulous week for Mr. Trump, where on Tuesday his personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, implicated him in a crime at and to make matters worse, his former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, was convicted on eight counts of tax-and bank-fraud charges, adding more fuel to the fire to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

During this interview, he touched on Cohen and Manafort’s claims against him as well. Trump argues that it was Michael Cohen “flipping” to accept a plea deal and alleges that the president directed his hush-money payoffs, Trump stated in the interview it “almost ought to be illegal.” in reference to Cohen’s claims. Trump also went on to say “This whole thing about flipping, they call it. I know all about flipping… Everything’s wonderful, and then they get 10 years in jail, and they … flip on whoever the next highest one is, or as high as you can go.” He was a bit easier on his former campaign chairman, stating that he has great respect for his former campaign chairman but did not discuss whether he would pardon him for these incidents.

As always, Trump had to sucker-punch the media in this interview where the question of whether the media is the enemy of the people, Trump stated, “not at all, but the fake news is,” and to follow up on his comment, claiming that  80 percent of the news is a lie and called The New York Times out publicly stating, “They’re crazed. They’re like lunatics.”
