Trump Invited Putin to the White House, Kremlin Aide Says
President Trump has reportedly invited Vladimir Putin to the White House for a summit during a call last month, a Kremlin aide claimed on Monday.
When Trump and Putin spoke on March 20th, Trump congratulated Putin for a reelection victory in a vote which was also widely criticized as not free and fair with many believing it was heavily rigged, but Putin aide Yury Ushakov claims:
“During a telephone conversation between our presidents, Trump suggested that the first meeting could be held in Washington.”
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated there are no further details at this time, with nothing set in stone.
“As the President himself confirmed on March 20, hours after his last call with President Putin, the two had discussed a bilateral meeting in the ‘not-too-distant’ future’ at a number of potential venues, including the White House.”
