Trump Signs Executive Order to End Family Separation

Following national outcry, President Donald Trump on Wednesday afternoon signed an executive order ending his policy of taking migrant children away from their parents at the border.

Trump stated during a special briefing, “We are keeping families together and this will solve that problem. at the time we are keeping a very powerful border and it continues to be a zero tolerance, we have zero tolerance for people that enter our country illegally…We want security for our country. The Republicans want security and insist on security for our country, and we will have that and keep families together. It’s very important. I’ll be signing something in a little while that’s going to do that.“

This comes as a surprise to many, due to the fact Trump was pushing the fact that he couldn’t do anything about this issue, and only Congress could do so. This has been the first time Trump acknowledged the reality that he could to reverse at parts of his immigration policy.

In this briefing, he also stated that Thursday’s traditional annual Congressional picnic because lawmakers were too busy to take an afternoon off.

Earlier today, Trump stated to reporters ” I will be something in a little while that’s going to do that.” “I’ll be doing something that’s somewhat preemptive and ultimately will be matched by legislation I’m sure,”

This news came after President Trump met with House Republicans working on immigration legislation policies.
