People on Twitter were quick to react to the incident, demonstrating mixed perspectives. Because Lahren is a controversial conservative figure, many on the right defended her, while many on the left applauded the restaurant hecklers. Some moderate observers agreed that while Lahren may not express agreeable views, the hecklers had no right to treat her that way.
TOMI LAHREN: I want to fuck up snowflake Liberals at Whole Foods.

Been thinking about it.
I know many will disagree, but here’s how I feel.
I detest @TomiLahren.
I think she’s terrible.
I think she’s racist.
I think her shtick is dumb.
However, I don’t think throwing a drink in her face is something to be celebrated.
It crosses the line.— andy lassner (@andylassner) May 23, 2018
Dear stupid woman that hates Tomi Lahren so much that you threw a drink at her,
If you want her to go away, you remain silent. Thanks to you, she's trending on Twitter, the President is tweeting about her, and she has more public support than ever before.
Great work!

Lord, grant me the widespread outpouring of concern extended to a racist white woman who's had a drink thrown on her for being racist.#TomiLahren

Throwing a drink on someone is battery. The anti-gun folks are supporting, encouraging & condoning agressive criminal behavior. #TomiLahren
Classy.@TomiLahren you should have pressed charges. 🚔

You know what I don’t really agree with throwing drinks in stranger’s faces but I also don’t really agree with being a cold, heartless, racist bitch so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ #TomiLahren

The incident garnered enough attention to warrant a Twitter reaction from President Trump as well.
Everybody is with Tomi Lahren, a truly outstanding and respected young woman! @foxandfriends

Tomi Lahren remained calm in the wake of the Twitter storm. She tweeted:
I appreciate the words of support- even from those who normally dislike me. Free speech is a gift- no need to resort to that kind of attack. I’ll discuss the restaurant incident on @foxandfriends tomorrow morning.

Lahren appeared early Wednesday on Fox & Friends to make a public statement on what happened in Minneapolis. She reported that she has experienced this sort of treatment in the past, and that she is “used to it.” Despite this, Lahren stated that the incident was disheartening, especially since it took place in front of her parents.
