YouTube Has Been Hacked, Most Viewed Video Vanishes
This morning, YouTube was the newest victim of hackers delight.
Luis Fonsi’s record breaking video for Despacito was deleted in this apparent hack, almost a week after it was announced that the video ft. Daddy Yankee had reached the remarkable milestone of becoming the first YouTube video in history to reach 5 billion views.
This morning the video was still there, but with masked individuals pointing guns towards the screen as seen in this image captured. However, when you pressed play, the video was unavailable.
This wasn’t the only one to fall victim to this attack, with many VEVO artists such as Taylor Swift, Drake, and Selena Gomez also having their videos get hacked with messages stating “Free Palestine” underneath the description.

With many questioning if it was the individuals accounts getting targeted, or VEVO’s video platform, Google has yet to comment.
