10 Questions: Mosie

After seeing them live on Cherub’s “Free Form” tour, I knew I wanted to know more about the eccentric duo that is Mosie. The group is made up of Jesse Levines and Aidan Brody, whose vocals and beats have set them apart as a one-of-a-kind must-see act.

Mosie’s unique style and catchy bumps caught my attention from the very beginning, and for the rest of the week I found myself shuffling through their music on Spotify. I kept finding myself replaying their songs, “Three-Prong Sing-Along” and “Gingerbread” and I still can’t get them out of my head.

Mosie’s energy is hard beat. I had the pleasure of conversing with the charming duo and got to ask them about the origin of Mosie, life on tour, and their journey so far as musicians in this edition of CMN’s 10 Questions.

CS: Where does the name Mosie come from? Is there a story behind it?

Mosie: Not much of a story just spewing nonsense with my friend from high school and came up with it. Ended up relating to it because I feel that I kind of mosey my ass around through life.

Mosie: Madlib, MF Doom, Ron Don Volante, Flamingo Club, Model/Actriz, Meth Dad, Postal Service, Julian Lage, Dr. Dre, Mtume, Breezy Breaker, Doctah Peppah.

CS: If you didn’t pursue music, where do you think you’d be right now?

Mosie: Out to fucking lunch.

Jesse: Kelly Clarkson

Aidan: The B-52s.

CS: What genre would you say best encapsulates your music?

Mosie: Bratwurst Bump.

CS: What is a day in the life like on tour?

Mosie: Somebody pukes everyday, usually me, so you know, yin yang.

CS: I love your song “Three-Prong Sing-Along,” what inspired you to make it?

Mosie: I LOVE electrical outlets and I said hey lets write one for our boys in the wall!

CS: Do you have a favorite song to perform?

Mosie: We don’t get to do it as much anymore but I love singing “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

CS: Do you have any pre-show rituals?

Mosie: PSP! Pre-show poop!

CS: What is one thing you want people to know about Mosie?

Mosie: We don’t know what the fuck is going on and neither do you! Its okay to mess up, you’re growing everyday. Do your best to take care and be you! Keep it sexy and glass the plexi babaaayyyy <3
