Amazon Hits Toys-R-Us Fans With a Holiday Toy Catalog

One of the biggest heartbreaks for many Toys-R-Us fans was accepting the fact there would be no iconic holiday toy catalog, with their beloved friend Geoffrey The Giraffe.

Have no fear fans, because ironically enough the people who tore down Toys-R-Us and took to what’s little is left of the brick-and-mortar competitors everywhere, is creating there own holiday toy catalog. Amazon was one of the biggest factors in its crumble, and now they are diving into something they can maximize profit on. With its acquisition of Whole Foods, and even before Toys-R-Us closed showed interest in buying some Toys-R-Us locations, this comes to no surprise.

According to Bloomberg “The online giant is going conventional with plans to publish a holiday toy catalog, according to people with knowledge of the strategy. The printed guide will be mailed to millions of U.S. households and handed out at Whole Foods Market locations.”

With Amazon having the opportunity to launch millions of print catalogs, many other stores such as Target and even Party City are hopping on the bandwagon to push holiday sales, now that one of their biggest competitors came to a screeching halt.
