August 18th is Clear the Shelters Day, Here’s What you Need to Know

Do you want to make a difference in an animals life? Here is your chance.

NBC and Telemundo owned stations are teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear the Shelters, a nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 18th.

Clear the Shelters is currently teaming up with hundreds of animal shelters and rescues to offer potential pet parents waived or reduced adoption fees for one-day only! According to their website, 153,651 pets have been adopted through them since 2015.

On their website, they also raise awareness for a variety of topics, some being shelter-overcrowding, the importance of neutering and spaying your pet, and tips for before and after you adopt your pet!

Typically, adoption costs include routine vaccines, spay or neuter surgery, if it has not already been done, microchip ID and registration, and rabies tags. These costs make it impossible for families to afford, so go on out, and find your newest furry friend!
