Author Sarah Wilson Addresses Mental Health in New Book

New York Times bestselling author Sarah Wilson explores mental health in her breakthrough memoir, First, We Make the Beast Beautiful. Wilson reframes her struggle with anxiety, bipolar disorder, and obsessive compulsive disorder as a spiritual journey, reassuring others who have to cope that they can conquer this as well.

Wilson adapted the title of her book from an ancient Chinese proverb: “To conquer a beast, you must first make it beautiful.” In this book, she outlines several helpful methods of dealing with anxiety in daily life, including making your bed and creating a daily gratitude ritual. Wilson also recommends cutting out sugar, which is reminiscent of her bestselling work, I Quit Sugar.

First, We Make the Beast Beautiful has been critically acclaimed as witty, insightful, practical and uplifting. It is available now at all major bookstores and online book retailers.
