Beyoncé is Taking Over Vogue’s September Issue

Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, has reportedly granted Beyoncé unprecedented control over the magazine’s upcoming September issue.

According to the Huffington Post, sources say that a contract between Vogue and Beyoncé would give the singer full control over the cover, inside photos and captions in the September issue.

Traditionally, Wintour has always maintained control of the cover from the choice of the models to the details of their outfits. Cover subjects typically have little say in their shoot and are given a preview of the cover within a week of its release date.

Fans and readers are anticipating the creative aspects of Queen Bey’s takeover. The music icon has chosen to hire the magazine’s first black photographer in the publications 126 years of existence. Tyler Mitchell, 23, is a graduate from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. He was reportedly hand-picked by Beyoncé herself to capture the images for this issue.

The news of Beyoncé’s power move has garnered praise from fans all over social media. Anyone familiar with the singer knows that she is not afraid to use her platform to put race and culture into a conversation.

The September issue is Vogue‘s biggest issue of the year. The anticipated 2018 release is set for August 14.
