CMN Vibes: The Best of Lollapalooza 2018’s Black Artists

Featured in this 10-hour-long playlist are emerging artists in the hip-hop/R&B music scene, including fresh faces with breakout hits from the past year such as Daniel Caesar, household names like Lil Uzi Vert and hip-hop trailblazers for these artists like Gucci Mane.

Songs as new as tracks from Travis Scott’s “Astroworld” project, dropped Aug. 3, are featured. Amid the mostly pop and alternative line-up of this year’s festival, these artists are set to add a splash of color to the line-up across the festival’s four days.

Nia is a broadcast journalism major and psychology minor at Virginia Commonwealth University. After being a 2016 VCU Homecoming Court winner, she began expanding her network around campus by working at the gym, becoming an admissions tour guide and picking up stories for "The Commonwealth Times” independent, student-run newspaper. Nia enjoys news writing, which is what inspired her to expand her interests into print journalism, but in her free time you can find her working on a discography that will never see the light of day. One day, you'll see Nia anchoring her own comedy news show (that's actually funny) or doing multilingual reporting for major news networks.
