Diarrhea Planet Announce Final Shows

If you never got the chance to experience the three-guitar, double-barrel punk glory that is Diarrhea Planet live, we’ve got some bad news for you, reader: the beloved Nashville band with the icky name are hanging up their guitars (and toilet paper) and moving on.

Their final shows will be on September 7th and 8th at the fabled Exit/In in their hometown.

They made the announcement via a Facebook post that read, in part, “We’ve had an incredible run largely thanks to all of you incredible people, but we’ve decided to bring it to a close. It has truly been amazing to share our music with y’all onstage and off.”

And as someone who was once thrown out of one of their shows, this writer can attest to their glory.

The group has released numerous fine recordings since their 2009 formation, most of the finest on Nashville’s Infinity Cat label. For first timers, the hard charging “I’m Rich Beyond Your Wildest Dreams” is a great place to start.

As one of the commenters on their announcement (see below) wrote, “Diarrhea Planet was too beautiful for this world.” Yes they were. Yes, they were.

Greetings y'all, it is with a heavy heart we announce our final shows. We’ve had an incredible run largely thanks to all…
