Dying Man Allowed to See His Dog One Last Time

A dying man got his final wish to see and kiss his dog one last time.

Peter Robinson from Scotland had been terminally ill and bedridden in a hospital for a long time, so on Thursday, March 29th he told his family that his dying wish was to kiss his dog one last time. Despite animals not normally being allowed in hospitals due to infection control, Robinson’s nurses granted his wish and allowed his relatives to bring Robinson his border collie Shep.

In the now viral video, Robinson can be seen taking off his breathing mask to let his dog lick his face.

Robinson had purchased Shep after his wife died eight years ago, and they’d been inseparable ever since. Just a couple of hours after being reunited with Shep one last time, Peter Robinson died in his hospital bed.

Fiona McCallum, the senior charge nurse of Ward 3 of the hospital said about the event, “the team worked with colleagues in infection control to make this possible, and I can’t thank all of them enough for going above and beyond to bring some comfort to Mr. Robson and his family.”

Robinson was 70-years-old and passed away after a lengthy battle with lung disease.
