Exchange Students in Italy Set Fire by Cooking Pasta Without Water

Do you smell burning?

A group of American exchange students in Italy caused a fire after attempting to cook pasta without water. “We put the pasta on the fire without the water, we thought it was cooked like that,” the students said to emergency officials.

After a few minutes, the pasta caught fire, and the conflagration was serious enough that firefighters had to come extinguish the flames. Nobody was injured and reportedly the only damage was to some furniture in the kitchen

Many of us may be wondering the same thing; just how three human beings could reach adulthood without knowing that you can’t cook pasta without water. If you think that is embarrassing, just remember it became international news, with much of Italy scratching their heads.

However, there is a silver lining to this situation, when Florentine chef Fabio Picchi sought to right the issue by offering the women four hours of Italian cooking lessons in one of his restaurants.

Hopefully, they will learn you also salt the water while it’s boiling too…
