Fort Valley State Employee Investigated Over Sorority Sex Ring Allegations

A former Fort Valley State University employee has resigned after allegations came out that she was running a prostitution ring with members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority on campus. Alecia Johnson is an Alpha Kappa Alpha alumni and was an advisor for the Fort Valley State chapter. The allegations state that the newest spring pledge class were involved in a sex ring so they could pay their sorority chapter dues. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Office of the Attorney General are currently investigating the situation.

Despite these terrible allegations, Johnson’s lawyer claims that she is innocent. “She’s not a pimp, and she’s not a madam—none of that. She’s not guilty. She did not do anything,” the lawyer said in an interview. He also added, “I mean, I know people want to be in a sorority. I got that part. I just don’t think you’re going to sell your body. Plus, it’s inconsistent with the reputation of Alpha Kappa Alpha.”

The national headquarters of Alpha Kappa Alpha responded to the situation, saying, “We were appalled to learn of allegations of sexual misconduct against a Fort Valley State University employee who also is a graduate member of the sorority. These allegations are in no way representative of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s 110-year service-based mission or its nearly 300,000 members,” the statement read. “We condemn these allegations in the strongest possible terms. We remain dedicated to our mission to encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, promote unity, alleviate problems concerning girls and women, create opportunities for them to pursue higher education and be of service to millions of people around the world annually.”
