Facebook Faces Criticism — From Its Own Cofounder

Yesterday, Facebook’s cofounder Chris Hughes’ penned an op-ed in the New York Times saying “it’s time to break up with Facebook.” In the piece, Hughes talks a little bit about his role in the beginnings of the social network and his relationship to Mark Zuckerburg — and, more importantly, Zuckerburg’s relationship to Facebook, delving into the Zuck’s obsession with “domination.” Hughes cites the Cambridge Analytica Scandal, the spread of misinformation in the 2016 election, and Facebook’s takeover of Instagram and WhatsApp as turning points for the company and the country. He calls on the government to break up the Facebook monopoly and keep a closer watch on the company, because imposing large fines just isn’t cutting it.

The seven-person band scattered from across the country is unmistakably old school, classy, and oh so talented. Read more in Adam Shay’s report for CMN.

Headbanging on the Dancefloor: The Three Tremor’s Self-Titled Review

This week, I’m reviewing the Three Tremor’s self-titled debut, The Three Tremors. I had never heard of the band before, but found out it has not one, but three main vocalists: Tim “The Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth), Sean “The Hell Destroyer” Peck (Cage), and Harry “The Tyrant” Conklin (Jag Panzer). I know that Owens and Peck have a pretty wide vocal range, so this will be interesting to see how the vocalists mesh their lines. Read more in Kevin Ashley’s review for CMN.
