Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, and LL Cool J Amongst 15 Nominees for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2019
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has just announced their final 15 nominations for the Class of 2019’s final induction, which will be revealed in December.
The nominations this year are from a variety of genres from many talented bands and solo musicians, including Def Leppard, Devo, Janet Jackson, John Prine, Kraftwerk, LL Cool J, MC5, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Roxy Music, Stevie Nicks, The Cure, Todd Rundgren, Rufus & Chaka Kahn, and The Zombies.
Many of them have been nominated in previous years, however there are six artists who are new to the ballot including Def Leppard, Devo, Prine, Roxy Music, Nicks and Rundgren.
This year, one nomination could be historical for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Stevie Nicks has technically been indicted before, from Fleetwood Mac’s induction in 1998, however Nicks would make history as the first woman to be inducted twice as a member of a group and a soloist.
Inductees are required to have released their first official recording at least 25 years prior to the nomination date, hence why you do not see as many familiar faces on this list. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2019 Induction Ceremony will be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on March 29, 2019.
