Jared Fogle Calls Judge Biased for Having Teenage Daughters

The former Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle, who is serving a 15-year sentence for possessing explicit photos of minors and paying for sex with underage girls, is appealing his sentence.

According to a report by FOX59, Fogle filed a motion asking Judge Tanya Walton Pratt to recuse herself, accusing Pratt of being biased towards his case. Fogle’s claim stems from the idea that Pratt has treated him unfairly because she has two teenage daughters.

However, Judge Pratt only has one daughter who was an adult at the time of Fogle’s sentencing.

In November 2015, Pratt sentenced the 40-year-old Fogle to 15 years and eight months in federal prison after pleading guilty to possessing sexual photos of minors and crossing stating lines to have paid sex with a minor. This sentencing exceeded what prosecutors and Fogle’s attorneys had recommended under a plea agreement.

The sentence was found to be reasonable after Fogle unsuccessfully appealed the following year. Pratt stated that the court had the authority to sentence Fogle up to 50 years. Fogle also paid a total of $1.4 million to his 14 victims, with each getting $100,000.

Fogle is serving his sentence at the low-security Federal Correctional Institution Englewood in suburban Denver.
